How to Find Aces and Clutches in a CS2 Demo

Start with the match events: who got the kills, how many opponents were alive, and which round it happened in. These details help you find a highlight without watching the whole replay.

Moments to look for

  • Three, four, or five kills by the same player in one round.
  • A player wins while starting outnumbered.
  • Several kills occur inside a short time window.
  • The sequence resolves an important round rather than ending in a loss with no payoff.

Check more than the kill count

Kill counts alone cannot always tell you whether a play was a clutch or a routine cleanup. The suggestions also use round state, victim order, alive-player counts, and the time between events.

Correct the automatic suggestion

  1. 01Open the round containing the suggested moment.
  2. 02Move the start earlier if the setup is missing.
  3. 03Move the end earlier if the suggestion includes dead time.
  4. 04Use the corrected range to create the video.

Frequently asked questions

Is every five-kill round an ace?

Usually, but special modes and unusual round states can complicate labels. The visible event sequence remains more important than the label alone.

Can a two-kill play be worth clipping?

Yes. A difficult 1v2 clutch or unusual utility play can be more interesting than a routine multi-kill. Use manual selection if it is missing from the suggestions.
